Showing up to the ballpark was very routine for the rested Sand Gnats. Throwing the ball around, taking some infield, and joking around like the comrads they are. After everyone was loose, Chris "The Hammer" Schmidt looks up at the time on the the scoreboard reading 5:50 replying, "Well I guess there aren't coming again. Maybe they will show up with a new sponsor....Star Metro." Chuckling at the comment, Mike Decarlo remarks," No, they will show up in a 9 car convoy." Well, he was 2/9 correct. 2 representatives for the Brew Crew arrive in their POV's. As one spokes person for the team said " I am sick of these guys. Every game is the same damn thing. I need to check the free agent market." After a long conversation about the season and the teams, James "The Asian Sensation" Canfield decided that the clan of Gnats could use some over due practice. When the tempered manager yelled," Let's work on the F#@&(^ basics and no F#@&(^ horse S#!&." The group got extremely excited. Hollering like hungry wolves scowering a prey. "This has been probably one of the most productive practices." John Bilyk stated.
After practice wrapped up, Canfield broke the news to some of the guys. " We are going to need a couple of team to lose before we clinch since everyone that is seeded will be playing in the playoffs." Now the team will be bonding off the field watching some of the other teams games. Relaxing, drinking a few beers, watching others get sweat soaked. Hoping for the help that the team deserves to play in the post-season.
The team has nearly a month off before the next game, which is in the playoffs. The Sandgnats will be working hard to be the sharpest tool in the shed in their time off. Right now the Gnats are slated to play 3 Rivers. "It's gonna be a hard fought series. We are going to bring our best and walk away with this series win." Mike "Triples/Doubles" Dross guarenteed with his brotherSteve Dross's backing. "Our bats will be live and so will our team. There is nothing gonna stand in our way."
